Amaro Pereira
CNPq Research Productivity Fellow – Level B
An economist who graduated from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), he holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ. He has worked as a technical consultant for the Energy Research Office (EPE) and as a visiting professor at Pierre Mendès-France University in Grenoble, France, and the University of Texas at Austin, USA. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Energy Planning Program at COPPE/UFRJ, a researcher at CentroClima/COPPE/UFRJ, a member of the Permanent Technical Committee of the LIFE Institute (Lasting Initiative For Earth), and Vice-President of the Brazilian Society for Energy Planning (SBPE).
Coordinator of the MBA program in Energy Regulation and Commercialization (RECOM). He is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow (PQ) and a “Scientist of Our State” (CNE) supported by FAPERJ. He has experience in energy and environmental modeling, and works in the areas of energy sector regulation, the integration of new technologies from various energy sources, and climate change-related issues. He is the author of books, book chapters, and dozens of articles in indexed international journals.
